Keith Riel: Ready on Day One

Peterborough doesn't need more drift or more division. It needs a mayor who listens carefully, decides clearly, and follows through. That's how Keith Riel has worked his whole life - on the shop floor, at the bargaining table, running his businesses, and on council. He's ready to lead on day one.

Good government comes down to having clear priorities, being disciplined with taxpayer's money, and making decisions that actually move forward. Peterborough faces too many stalled projects. A Riel administration will set a direction, stay focused, and see things through.

Peterborough has a housing problem and it isn't going away on its own. Keith will work with builders, community partners, and other levels of government to cut the approvals backlog, get more homes built, and keep neighbourhoods strong. The city can't grow if people can't afford to live here.

Peterborough's businesses don't need cheerleading. They need a City government that understands how they operate and gets out of their way. Faster processes, fewer barriers, and a clear signal that Peterborough is open for business. That will mean growth that creates good local jobs and keeps money in this community.

Public safety and city services are what residents count on every day. Keith will make sure they're funded, functional, and fairly run. That means stable labour relations, clear expectations, and city workers who are respected, supported, and held to a high standard.

Arts and Culture aren't nice-to-have. They drive innovation, attract people and investment, and define what kind of city Peterborough is. A Riel administration will treat the sector as a core part of Peterborough's economy and identity and back it up with stable, long-term funding and a seat at the table.

As Mayor, Keith will set the tone. He will run a council that keeps debate focused and makes decisions people can see and understand. Less noise, more results. Peterborough deserves a council that reflects the community's priorities and delivers on them.
